What are the ways to record the academic success as a student?

We know that many students are new to the school and do not know what it takes to be successful in the college environment as well. We know that they understand good and bad grades in a general way and the sense that they should attend classes, but that is where their knowledge begins and ends as well. We know that they listen and train themselves to pay attention as well.  We see that if they miss a session, they feel obligated to let the instructor know why before class begins, if possible, as well as their excuses are legitimate and reasonable.  We know that they make sure they get all missed assignments (by contacting the instructor or another student at the same time) and understand specifically what was covered in class at the same time. We see that successful students take responsibility for themselves and their actions as well. We see that successful students take advantage of extra credit opportunities when offered as well. It is what they demonstrate that they care about their grades and are willing to work to improve them as well.  We see that they often do the optional (as well as frequently challenging) assignments that many students avoid as well. We know that successful students are attentive in class as well as they don’t talk, read, or stare out the windows at the same time. We know that in other words, they are polite and respectful, even if they get a little bored as well.  We see that they also participate in class even if their attempts are a bit clumsy as well as difficult. 

We see that they ask questions that the instructor knows many other students may also have.
